Aaron Rail, a specialist rail services company and part of the Aaron Engineering Group, has successfully completed key infrastructure works at the West Batley site for the TRU West Alliance, supporting principal contractor Amey in the delivery of essential track upgrades.
The project involved the removal and reinstallation of Road Rail Access Points (RRAPs) to enable the track team to carry out essential infrastructure upgrades at the site. The works form part of the wider Transpennine Route Upgrade programme, which is transforming rail connectivity across the North of England.
Aaron Rail’s scope of works was carefully coordinated to ensure minimal disruption to the track renewal activities, with the RRAP removal and reinstallation timed to support the efficient delivery of the infrastructure upgrades. This activity plays a vital role in ensuring long-term durability and safety across the rail network, while also improving accessibility and streamlining operations.
The project was overseen by Aaron Rail Site Manager Ben Bailey, whose leadership ensured the works were delivered smoothly and to a high standard. The successful completion of the project demonstrates the effective collaboration between Aaron Rail and Amey’s track teams, with coordinated planning and execution enabling the infrastructure upgrades to progress efficiently.
The Transpennine Route Upgrade is a transformative, multi-billion pound railway programme that will better connect passengers in the North between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York, bringing more frequent, more reliable, faster, and greener trains to the region.
Aaron Rail continues to support the TRU West Alliance across multiple sites, delivering specialist civil engineering and infrastructure works that enable the successful delivery of this major rail enhancement programme.
