Aaron Engineering Group awarded contract on Eastern Green Link 2 project

Aaron Engineering Group, a multi-disciplinary group of companies providing expert services to the Property, Rail, and HV Electrical Sectors, has been awarded a key contract on the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) Project, one of the most significant energy infrastructure developments currently underway in the UK.

EGL2 is designed to strengthen and expand the UK’s electricity transmission network, supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy system by enabling the movement of renewable power from north to south, where demand is highest. The project represents a critical investment in the UK’s net zero infrastructure.

As part of this contract, Aaron Engineering Group will be delivering specialist cable installation and ducting works at sites in Peterhead, Scotland, and Wrenhall, England. The works will connect existing substations to newly constructed converter stations, forming a critical element of the overall transmission system.

The company’s scope of works will ensure the resilience and reliability of the new subsea and onshore connection, supporting the efficient transmission of renewable energy across the UK’s electricity network. Aaron Engineering Group’s specialist capabilities in high voltage engineering and civil works position the company well to deliver these complex infrastructure requirements.

The Eastern Green Link 2 project forms part of the wider investment in the UK’s electricity transmission infrastructure, designed to accommodate increasing volumes of renewable energy generation and support the country’s transition to net zero carbon emissions.

Aaron Engineering Group’s involvement in the EGL2 project demonstrates the company’s growing presence in the energy infrastructure sector and its capability to deliver specialist engineering solutions on projects of national significance. The contract builds on the company’s established expertise in high voltage systems and large-scale infrastructure delivery.

Discussing the contract award, Aaron Engineering Group Chief Operating Officer Danny Lane said:

“We are delighted to be collaborating with industry leaders NKT and BAM on this strategically important project. By combining expertise, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence, we aim to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery throughout every stage of the project.”
