Aaron FM was appointed by Mitie to complete a substantial waterproofing and roof refurbishment at Cawley House in Chester.

Scope

For this project, Aaron FM’s engineering team delivered a complete roof waterproofing system including:

  • Removal of existing chippings to leave a chip-free surface and release and re-seal all blisters
  • Making good any defects in the roof covering and removing all superfluous materials, dust, and debris to leave the roof in a clean and dry condition
  • Supply and application of SPV High Bond Primer to the existing waterproofing
  • Supply and installation of 15mm thick bitumen-impregnated recovery board bonded in bitumen to the primed surface
  • Supply and torch application of SPV 3mm Elastomeric Underlay
  • Supply and torch application of SPV 4mm Elastomeric Mineral Cap Sheet
  • Inspection and maintenance of upstand details with primer application
  • Application of new waterproofing to upstand details comprising SPV 3mm Elastomeric Underlay and 4mm Elastomeric Mineral Cap Sheet
  • Removal and disposal of lead, with the new felt system encapsulating the parapet detail

The works were completed within the 25-day programme, delivering a high-performance waterproofing system that will protect the building for years to come.
